I haven’t shared too many Holga photos (truth be told, I haven’t made that many), but it really is a neat camera. On the one hand, it’s frustrating that you can’t share the photos immediately (there’s that whole develop and scan thing… weird!!), but on the other hand, it’s fun to get a CD of 12 photos back from the lab that were taken spread out over a few weeks or months, random shots from all over the world, some you barely remember making!

Here’s the decent ones from the last roll. By “decent”, of course, I mean “don’t completely suck”. I full recognize that if there were full color photos, shot on a 5D Mk II, they’d be pretty pedestrian. It’s the real B&W film, plastic lens and marginal focus that makes it fun.

Just go with it…

Memphis, TN. A row of nearly identical homes, so simple and perfect.

The Loraine Hotel, where Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated.

The Loraine Hotel, where Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated. The wreath is where he stood. The cars waiting are identical to the ones there that day (waiting for him), but are not the actual cars.

Memphis, TN. A very large American flag on the side of a building.

Living Waters, in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina. You can see a digital color picture of this same waterfall here.
