Snapseed has seen some recent changes that is quickly making it one of my favorite iOS apps for playing with photos!
Mercedes SLS in Köln
Having a really, really nice (and expensive!) Mercedes at our disposal against the backdrop of Köln (Cologne), Germany is always loads of fun.
Photography for Plaza Inn & Suites at Ashland Creek
I photographed the Plaza Inn and Suites at Ashland Creek for Groupon, but then took the photos and applied a much more intense HDR treatment to them for my own personal use. Take a look at how they came out, and what I learned along the way!
Fuji X100 Exposure Inaccuracies
I've been having some really odd issues with my Fuji X100 since… well, since I got it over a year ago. I finally ran some tests and concluded that it's not the camera's meter as I always suspected, but actually the camera is shooting a different exposure than what it's reporting. Check it out!
Fall in Ashland, Oregon
Halloween in Ashland
For the second year in a row, I spent Halloween in my hometown of Ashland, Oregon photographing the revelers dressed in their midnight best. This year, I posted all photos for free on facebook for anyone who was there to tag and grab. What a blast!
Taroko Pan-Pacific Bistro Restaurant Shoot
Taroko in Ashland is a hip asian-fusion restaurant with creative sushi, delicious entrées, great sake and more. I photographed a selection of menu items for their website and online marketing usage.
Hong Kong Story in The Daily
I’m very excited to say that my story and photos on Hong Kong landed in The Daily this Saturday morning, in the new WKND Travel section. It’s always exciting to see your words and pictures in a major international publication!
Of course not every photo was published in the article, so here’s a larger collection of images to enjoy [open photo gallery].
And if you haven’t read the article itself yet, you can check that out here!
Lightning Storm over Ashland
I was on a job all day yesterday (those following on twitter or Instagram may have seen the cute little meals-to-be I was shooting) and on the way home, a huge lightning storm settled over Ashland for a while. I pulled off to shoot it, and once it moved away I climbed a hill to capture its retreat.
The technique used in these photos is a little bit of interesting trickery that I’ll hold onto for now. I’ll be doing a video2brain training as well as a webinar for Nik Software in the upcoming months, and I think I’ll show this then. It was one of those experiments gone right.
Edenvale Winery, Location Scouting
It’s an unbelievably nice day here in Ashland, so I went to a winery I’ve been wanting to location scout this morning. Plus, I’m trying out 500px as a place to post images.
