Build Your Own LUT! ► Completely Control Color Correcting

Have you ever wondered how to build your own LUT for video editing? It's actually quite easy. If you're not familiar with color grading or correcting, a Lookup Table is a file that converts colors in an image based on a mathematical formula. Its especially useful if you have a large batch or a whole project to apply the same color grading to. Use LUTs with any of your favorite editing programs (Photoshop, Lightroom, Afinity Photo, Premier, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, etc… you get the picture).

Hacking Full-size Camera Panoramas to Work in Facebook

You've probably seen those cool panoramic images in Facebook where you can not only drag to explore the image, but even tilt and pan your phone to do it. Neat! I really wanted to add a panoramic photo I'd created in Lightroom to Facebook, but it didn't work. It turns out, there's a few things you have to do… and the path to figuring that out was a looooong one.

If you’ve transitioned from the chemical darkroom to the digital one, you’ll appreciate the terms and methodology applied here. But even if not, if you have an appreciation for black and white image processing, you’re bound to find PhotoKit an exceptional tool to add to your arsenal.

Landscape scenes can look even more beautiful with a long exposure. However, a long exposure can blur subjects and elements we want to remain sharp. With a little forethought in the field, and a touch of post processing magic, you can get the best of both worlds.
