It was a short week here at PhotoJoseph Studios. After an enjoyable long-weekend, we got right back down to business. Tuesday we kicked it off with a review of the Lumu Power Color Temp and Light Meter that Joseph supported on Kickstarter. Wednesday was testing out the Mevo Event Camera's newly acquired beta access to stream to YouTube. Then on Thursday, haha, Joseph had no clue what the show was going to be about. What was going to be an "ask me anything" style show turned into testing out if the Mevo could keep a signal while driving. And finally, on Friday, Joseph reviewed the "Commlite COMASTER CS-S20-H1 Rain-proof Vest Wear-Style Multi Purpose Outdoor Camera Dedicated Portable Straps Portable Sports Bag"… yes, that is it's name. That one was a very humorous show to catch live! Always remember you can catch the Photo Moments LIVE every weekday at 9:30am PT.
Well that was a fun week for PhotoJoseph Studios! We had the Q&A show on Monday where Joseph was asked questions on topics like the GH5's screen dimming. The Q&A is always a great show to watch if you are looking for hidden gems of info. Tuesday was the big day. The Photo Moments turned 1-year-old! Instead of the regular format, that show was actually held as a Google Hangout. Many of the regular viewers took the time to join us in the hangout, and it was a really fun time! (Side Note: If you support PhotoJoseph's Patreon, then there will be Google Hangout sessions planned for those donating at the $10 and above level). On Wednesday, there was an unboxing of the Tenba Cinelux Roller 21, fairly straight forward. On Thursday PhotoJoseph did a live review of the Mevo camera by Live Stream (lent to him by Live Stream Pros). And finally, on Friday, Joseph shared with us a sort of "behind the scenes" look at what he does with his real estate photography.
This year is just flying by. It's the 20th week already!? Monday we had the Q&A with a wide range of topics, such as Mechanical and Electronic shutters, the Edelkrone SliderONE, and taking stills while recording video with the GH5. Tuesday was a discussion on backup options. Wednesday was a lot of fun playing with the GH5s ability to make a stop-motion video. On Thursday, Joseph went live from the road to do an unboxing of the Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 Video Head. And on Friday, PhotoJoseph joined the Live Streaming Pros on their set to talk about live streaming and cameras. If you are interested the world of live streaming at all, this is a must watch.
We are always busy here at PhotoJoseph Studios, and always looking to improve how we do it. We had the regularly scheduled Q&A show on Monday, and as you can see it was again broken out into multiple segments. On Tuesday, PhotoJoseph showed off the set for his upcoming GH5 Training. Wednesday's show was all about Time Lapse, which was cool because it applies to basically any camera. On Thursday he showed off a cheap option for an external HDMI display that can be used with your camera (if it has an HDMI output). And finally, on Friday, PhotoJoseph shared an "AH HA!" moment will all of us. He realized that his SpiderLight Holster and his MeFoto Tripod are both made with the Arca-Swiss style plates. Also, starting with Friday's show, a new format was presented. The Photo Moments have quite a community now that show up for the daily live streams so they can ask questions (to PhotoJoseph or to others in the chat). It is so active, that the questions have become the majority of the show. So, for the benefit of those trying to watch the show for the slated topic, we are going to keep to topic and then address viewer questions after, (though, if there are on-topic questions, they will be answered as they come up). The daily viewer questions will now have their own separate video, (and you can find a link to that video in the description below).
Last week had all the fun NAB content… so sad thats done. It was a lot of fun! Now, we're back to the regularly scheduled studio show. Because NAB took PhotoJoseph on the road last week, there was no Q&A show. With two weeks worth of questions to answer, Joseph thought it would be more appropriate to stream it all in one large show, but then break them up into separate videos afterwards. You can take your pick: Watch the full version where live viewers also asked questions or watch the individual segments. On Tuesday, PhotoJoseph updated the firmware of his GH5 AND installed V-Log live on the air...err the YouTubes. Wednesday was an unboxing of Genaray SpectroLED-14 and the Impact Wheeled Stand. Thursday was an exploration of the BGGH5 Battery Grip. And on that same theme, Friday's show was about the XLR1 adapter for the GH5.
Week 17 of 2017. Man, it's just flying by… it's already almost May! This week PhotoJoseph was out of town. Some of you may have even run into him, because he was at the NAB Conference in Las Vegas from Monday through Thursday. We still had the Photo Moments, though not on Monday… that was an early morning of travel. We start on Tuesday where PhotoJoseph coordinated the "PhotoJoseph Photo Moment Meetup" where fans and other YouTubers met up and talked about what they had seen at NAB so far. While at the conference, Joseph met and befriended Griffin Hammond. So then what was Wednesday's show? Well, it was an interview with Griffin Hammond, of course! On Thursday PhotoJoseph shared a product review with us about the NekTeck iPone 7 plus phone case. And then on Friday, finally back home, he talked about the dual lav mic setup he's been using for interviews (as seen with Griffin Hammond).
It was a pretty basic week here at PhotoJoseph Studios...though a bit busy on our end as PhotoJoseph will be traveling this coming week, (He is attending NAB in Vegas on Monday and Tuesday). Anyway, if you watched Monday's Q&A Live, then you were treated to an extra long stream. Joseph had a lot of questions submitted, (two weeks worth actually), and some of them actually required longer answers than he likes to do in the Q&A…so he answered them as separate segments after the main Q&A session (seen below). On Tuesday, Joseph (unknowingly) encouraged everyone to do something illegal (in all but three states). Wednesday was an in-depth look at the custom settings within the GH5. On Thursday, PhotoJoseph showed us how to record 60p and 24p at the same time on the GH5. And finally, Friday's show was about a cheap tripod he just bought, asking the question "is cheaper a good deal in the end?"
Well that was another busy week. We're going to do something different and start the re-cap at the weekend. After the reception of last week's GH5 Autofocus test footage video, PhotoJoseph decided to trim it down and gave us a video explaining his decision. Moving on, (as we all would concerning autofocus), Monday was an early morning and a long day. After a 5:30am flight, Max Yuryev and PhotoJoseph spent the day together testing out the LUMIX GH5. Nothing really of note happened on Tuesday. Wednesday kicked off a three-part series on showing the individual pieces that come together to form PhotoJoseph's Broadcast Room (think Power Rangers or Voltron). Wednesday covered Cameras and Switchers, Thursday covered Lighting and Sound, And Friday covered Switching, Capture, and Streaming.
This was the most intense week here at PhotoJoseph Studios by far. On a little side note, we had some silly in-studio technical issues that had us playing catch-up all week...gotta love it. As usual, we started off with our Monday Q&A stream where Joseph covered questions on a variety of topics, (many relating to the GH5). On Tuesday, he unboxed the XLR-1 microphone adapter and the BGGH5 battery grip. Wednesday's show was full of helpful tips about the GH5. And then Thursday happened. We released the PhotoMoment ahead of the GH5 Autofocus Test Footage, and then let the Kraken loose. We've never seen so much traffic...we've never seen so much passion about photography/videography. This autofocus topic has really ignited a flame within people, and it is cool to see. Unfortunately, it led into a slight misunderstanding, and YouTube Max Yuryev posted a video response, causing a change of plans...and making greater ones. On Friday's Photo Moment, PhotoJoseph invited Max Yuryev to help calm things down and to coordinate on a special plan they have in the works.
Sorry, we don't have anything for you this week. Just Kidding! April Fools!
PhotoJoseph kicked off the week with his second Q&A session, (New Tradition. Every Monday). Tuesday, Joseph was out sick. Enough viewers wished him good health to the point where he was ready to hit the ground running when he came back on Wednesday…or maybe that was due to the new GH5 and 12-60mm Leica lens sitting on his desk waiting for him. Thursday was FULL of content. First there was the actual Photo Moment where PhotoJoseph showed us what we would need to have a mobile video editing "studio". He also released his first three vlog videos, one of which, (Hike up Table Rock), was edited with his mobile set-up. And finally, on Friday he showed us how to get into VFR Mode in the GH5 after few of his viewers asked how to do it.
