Interesting; watching the broadcasted show now, and I see that the A-CAM is much higher contrast than it is when recorded. Must be gaining contrast either on YouTube or via the switcher. Or the scaler. Could be anything. But the final shot looks brighter and cleaner than this!
+SkateTube well, yes… but as I said, the recorded image isn't that dark. So either youtube crunched it or the scaler is doing something weird.
14:50 to 15:20 maybe this is why
Love that intro music! Your voice, too.

I agree, your A cam is too bright and contrasty. I actually liked the B cam better.

I was hoping that you'd describe some of the props, esp. the view camera way in the back. I'm guessing it's an Arca or a Cambo.
Can you do a video on post-processing one of your training videos?
hi joseph, any chance you could explain the picture mode in rec function?
+adrian I’ll address your comment LIVE right here https://youtu.be/4GCWOFfNtzM on PhotoJoseph‘s Photo Moment 2017-05-15
hi joseph, is there a way on the gh5 when in manual video mode to change the rear dial from shutter speed to maybe gain? or lock it to the current shutter speed? as finding it too easy to change the shutter by accident with that dial
Not that I know of. I've run into this too.
always video about GH5, and never photo taken with the GH5, yet it also makes photos ?
The course does cover stills and video yes
You mean, in the course you will?
yes it does ;-) I will get to stills I promise
I have questions.

1. Please talk about how you hang the photos that are the backdrop of your GH5 Course studio. I would guess some kind of hook and loop strips? I would like to do something similar to hang photos on a wall next to a stairway.

2. How do you deliver finished movies to Lynda? Do they have an upload site or do you use an intermediary like Frame.io?

3. What format are the files you deliver?

4. Does Lynda reprocess the files or do you deliver totally finished movies?

If I could, I would totally be your assistant. Seems like you are doing so many fun things. Much more fun than what I do all day every day.
Steel and magnets? Didn't see that one on your Lynda course. Did I miss an episode?
Now I have another option to consider. Thanks much.
Hey Thomas!
1 — steel strips bolted to the wall and magnets glued to the prints ;-)
2-4 — FTP, 1080p and ProRes
The GH5 does look pretty dark. Not sure if you're going for that effect, but the texture on the camera and button disappears.
+toocool3 Yeah the image that was broadcast was way darker than what's being recorded. I think it's the scaler.
I understand the three different shutter types: mechanical, front curtain, and electronic. However, it is not clearly described in the manual when you would choose each, other than for silence or faster speed or flash. Also, when and why would you choose 'auto'.

On prior models, I believe that there was a problem with shutter shock in a range of shutter speeds, so selecting electronic or auto for those speeds would help that. I thought the GH5 solved much of that, but...??
