Epiphan has priced themselves out of the market or I should say potential market....at $3500.00...IMO about $1500 overpriced. At $2k they would take the Streaming market by Storm....volume sales would far surpass what they can now expect. A shame again IMO. T’is a great rig, but with so many devices under $1k available, and most folks already halfway there with their present equipment, this will only be for the filthy rich...
I don’t disagree that it’s expensive but name one product that does what this does for less? As far as I know, there’s nothing. Happy to be proven wrong.
Totally agree. It looks like it does a great job, but as you say, it's expensive for what it does, so much lower sales. I went for their Webcaster X2 to stick on the output of our Blackmagic 4K mixer (via a BMD SDI>HDMI mini-converter), at one tenth of the cost of the Pearl Mini. If Blackmagic brought out something like this, it would be half the price of the Pearl Mini and would sell shed-loads.

Real shame it cant encode 1080P at 60 only 30 - would be amazing for high end game streaming if it did.
