Tethered Shooting with your iPhone!

Photo Moment - November 10, 2016

Have you ever wanted to shoot tethered with your iPhone? OK, probably not… but isn't it cool to know that you can? Not without a little trickery, however. In this Photo Moment, come along on the adventure as we discover just what you have to do to make this work. But work, it does!

The AppleScript code mentioned in the video is:

on idle
tell application "System Events"
key code 87
end tell
return 2
end idle

The video where I learned how to do the auto-click part (and where the code came from): https://youtu.be/N5Fbnh9p3dw

Yesterday's video, where I showed how to capture the iPhone screen, is here: https://youtu.be/LEkM1YDcyqA

thank you for sharing this!!!
that's really smart. Thank you for spending time digging into it.
+Qiao Wang thanks!
ok you talk about "most people shoot tethered in a studio" .. then you continued to talk about shooting with your actual iphone tethered to a mac 😒? What professional photographer has a high cost studio only to take cell phone shots? Time for a 2020 redo for actual photographers looking for a lighting cable to REAL CAMERA tethered mobile solution. So the question is, how does one connect let's say a Sony a6000 to their iphone 8 for USB TETHERED mobile shooting?(without having sort of expensive wireless box in between...
I'm saying only Camera->Lighting Cable with micro USB converter->iPhone 8)
I wonder how to shoot tethered with android phone
I still don't get why Apple killed Aperture...
Neither do I, brother…
Love this!
Haha thanks!
Thank you so much. Helped me a lot.
Amazing! Exactly what I was looking for for my job! :D
Is it possible to shoot on Lightroom mobile (iPhone) tethered with Lightroom desktop? Any trick to pairing them?
I recorded this video a long time ago… see if you can make this work to do what you want! https://youtu.be/v4hkJnRkRGg
This is amazing! Thank you!
+Carolina Velazquez you’re welcome!
Great video. Thanks for posting. Quick question - what are you using to switch video inputs? Thanks in advance!
