I am struggling to write Applescript to do a very simple task. Any help would be much appreciated.

I need an Applescript which Aperture executes after importing to do the following:

(1) Go to the PROJECT root of the Aperture Library
(2) Get the current system year e.g. 2012
(3) Check in the PROJECT root for a FOLDER called 2012
(4) If the FOLDER does not exist then create it.
