When I try and import a new folder of new images into Aperture Library as referenced files off my desktop. Mix of DNG and Jpegs. Using MacBook Pro and Mavericks, latest version of Aperture. Intended as temporary project until later transfer to MacPro but I want to process in the field and use images for web etc. Adequate HD space 3gb free. Tried opening new library, silly message telling me it needs 5mb more space to proceed.

3GB is virtually nothing for remaining free space these days. Sounds like it’s time to free up space on your drive. That “silly” message is preventing you from potentially getting into trouble.

Pretty sure you are correct, the latest iPhone IOS update would not load today due to insufficient disk space. Now to find out what is using all this disk space. Easier said than done!

There’s a wealth of information out there about this problem. Do a search for “mac free disk space” to get started.
