I want to just show RAW files either by project or the complete library so as to be able to export jpgs of just originals (RAW) in bulk (for USCO copyright registration). I have tens of hundreds.

Thanks.

There’s a ‘File Type’ filter available in the Filter HUD, but it’s results depend on how you imported your images and whether they are set to ‘RAW as original’ or ‘JPEG as original’. If you imported RAW+JPEG pairs and are using the JPEG as the original, those images won’t show up if you filter for RAW only. Otherwise that filter setting should work for you.

Thank you, Jim. I wasn’t able to find a “File Type” filter in any Filter HUD.

I imported only RAW and wasn’t aware of any “RAW as original” option, so I would assume the original imported image would be labelled internally as “original”.

Maybe I should have been clearer. I wanted to view only original RAW, as they were imported, so I can select them and export versions as JPGs.

Your additional explanation was helpful. Since you imported only RAW, I think this will do what you need:

- Close all stacks (assuming you’ve used them for making adjustments).

- Select all the images.

- On the Photo menu choose ‘New Version from Original’ (shortcut option-G).

- The newly created versions will all be selected (any closed stacks will open). There are no adjustments on them, i.e., they are unedited “originals”.

- Assign some unique identifying label to the new versions while they are selected; I’d probably use a colored label, but whatever works for your workflow. You probably want to rename the new versions as well at this point, maybe to the original filename or whatever is required for submission.

- Export the new versions to whatever format you need for submission.

You probably want to do this on a project-by-project basis if you have lots of images.

If you look on the top right of the Filter box there is a drop down “Add Rule”. File Type is one of the choices in this menu.
