This was not a problem until last night. I have the latest versions of Yosemite 10.10.1 and Aperture 3.6 The application dialog spins its wheel and states that it is loading assets. It suspends itself in this state and does not allow me to import files from my SD card. From reading Apple Support Communities I realize I am not alone. Any solutions?
I have the same issue. It was discussed on the homepage a few weeks back. The only way I can upload my photos now is by connecting my camera directly and importing that way. sd slot will not work. Yosemite also has made my trackpad not work with Photoshop Elements. I’ve heard of other Apps having problems as well. I’m really hoping for an update soon to fix this issue. I’m getting frustrated!

I share your frustration. Apple seems to have lost it’s way. I read about a work around in a support forum. Copy DCIM from card to desktop and import from the desktop copy.
