Edelkrone SliderONE Video Results

Photo Moment - January 26, 2017

While PhotoJoseph was down in Oaxaca, he was experimenting with the edelkrone SliderONE whenever he could. With all the different types of locations they went to, Joseph got just as much variety of shots using the SliderONE. Indoors and out, stable and unstable surfaces, fast and slow. The constant here is that Joseph is having fun with his new toy.

Any tips for traveling to Mexico with camera gear? I’m headed to Cancun for a good friends wedding and wanting to bring some camera gear and possibly my Mavic drone
@@photojoseph Great Thanks. And keep up the great content. Love my GH5 :)
MHB Studios I did not have any issues, no. No one asked for receipts. I flew into Mexico City and changed planes there, so I’d think that’d be more likely to be problematic than a small city airport. But also my gear is small so is easily overlooked by people looking for “pro” gear.
@@photojoseph Thanks much. Yes, I plan to bring enough while still traveling light. How was bring gear into customs? Did they give you any trouble? I have heard of them asking for receipts to show value of equipment and to make sure you tell them it is for personal use only and not business.
Travel light, pack lots of batteries, and go with a wide range of lenses. You’ll want everything from wide to long to macro. Mexico a visual feast! Where are you going? Also, do research the legality of flying a drone there though. I have no idea (I didn’t have one when I went) but I only found out last minute that I couldn’t fly in India, so almost carried a drone everywhere without being able to use it. I left it at home when I found out.
You can cut out times you are hu nting for files on your computer in edit. Just constructive criticism, because i almost went to a diff video. Glad i didnt though, thanks for showing what didnt work and why. :-)
PhotoJoseph gotcha... also i was in the same boat on 24fps, until i added ND filters. The goal is to keep shutter speed at 1/50 and ISO 100, by adding more or less stops of light via a Variablee ND filter, even changing it as filming as the light changes. If you can keep the shutter speed at 1/50, there will be the perfect amount of motion blur added to each frame which your brain actually prefers. Panning, fast movement, large landscape movements look better.
When you let the shutter speed go faster, you remove motion blur to the point each frame looks staccato or choppy.
I also apply the same principle on drone footage to create butter smooth panning at 24fps in bright sun.
This is even more critical when you want that cinematic look with a fast aperture when its bright out. With out ND filters, your shutter speed will go to the thousands and 24fps looks like garbage. However each frame from a photo perspective will look like a well taken sports photo. But that will create very choppy footage.
Yeah, that’s how I roll. You see what really happens. Plus I produce a LOT of content and would have to cut that back to edit everything down. This is my format… real life :-) Thanks for watching.
im guessing at least half the people who clicked your clickbait link expected footage, not a review. Hence the thumbs down!
Great video review! In my experience, if audio and 4K don't matter, I took advantage of variable framerate combined with the three focus point options for the GH5 to, I think, good effect. I was using the Slider Plus Medium with both modules, and I too came to the came to conclusion once I adapted to the slider that I could have gotten away with a shorter slider...as long as I shot everything perfectly. Strongly considering putting the Slider Plus on studio duty and getting the Slider One with Motion Module for my portable rig. Looks like it will cut the weight by at least half, which will be great for my back. :)
Sweet, and thanks!
Why didn't you set the target using the laser? That way the object stays in focus regardless of where the camera moves.
+Will Dominguez Laser targeting? I think you're confusing this product with something else. This is just a motorized slider.
This looks like an amazing tool. The laser targeting and the ability to do straight slider shots, or rotate around an object. Wow. This is my next purchase.
laser targeting?
Great stuff. I bought the slider after your demo. I have used sliders and they function best when you attempt to "reveal" something in the shot. I'm looking forward to using this next week. Your right the length of the slider is not important. The advantage this one has is it's small size.
+Jim Horn Sweet!
Cheers for showing the mistake clips!
They make assessing the usefulness of the equipment much easier.
+David Anderson Thanks! Yeah I know when I'm a n00b and have no problem sharing it :-)
So does the app also control the camera? I have the Sony A7S and use the Playmemories app for Timelapse. Will the two products work together? Thanks.
+Minority Nomad Yes. And in fact I will be doing a Photo Moment this week on the wifi control feature of the LUMIX cameras. Wednesday, I think.
Thanks for the video. I think a A6500 with better AF would have got you the flower slide. The first slide you show seemed to keep pausing as it moved very strange. I shoot at 25p having to shoot at 60p to possibly get a smooth slide isn't something I would want to do. I think the big use for this is for product macro slides.
+mark shirley Focus tracking on the GH4 isn't a strong suit. The GH5 should be amazing here though. A colleague who shoots with sliders a lot said 30p is considerably better than 24p for slides.
Thank you.
