After cleaning in the garage, this forgotten Pelican 1495 Laptop Case was uncovered from its 10 year stint in storage. Photo Joseph took this on a trip to Kenya, and was his mobile work-station…complete with solar panels (not shown today) to power everything.

You were working on Aperture at Apple? I was the Higher Education Account Exec in Hawaii (2005-2012) and brought Bill Frakes here to run a series of Aperture workshops for my accounts. That would have been around 2007-2008. I probably still have some unopened NFR copies of Aperture lying around in a box somewhere. Anyhow, we may have been moving in similar circles at some point in the past.

PS - I'm clinging on to Aperture as long as I can. I do wish Apple had taken a similar approach to Aperture as they did with FCP.

Nice to make that connection. I spent a lot of time (including on your site) searching for clues to a possible reprisal of a pro photo app. from Apple. These days I'm doing more video work, so it's less of an issue, but FCPX can look into Aperture libraries still, and this can be helpful when producing hybrid projects.

You and me both, brother. I was at Apple 2001 to 2009, so yeah we overlapped. Bill is awesome, love that guy. Haven't seen him in years unfortunately. And Aperture still is good, but I've moved on.
