Xtouch Mini (€40) and MIDI2LR (free) does just about the same job
@@photojoseph Finally cos the x-touch mini is bus powered i can use a usb bluetooth adaptor and power bank and make the whole unit wireless
@@photojoseph Also have an old Behringer bcf2000 laying around for even more functionality
@@photojoseph I'm very new to this but i've been a sound engineer for years and love a tactile feel over a mouse and keyboard, so with my background it's a bit more intuitive....and remapping a midi controller doesn't scare me
Interesting! You’re using that?
I like the loupedeck but found it to be quite expensive and not customizable, I'm currently using Midi2lr (lightroom plug in) that allows my Behringer X-touch mini (midi USB interface) to work as a control surface for lightroom and it is really fenomenal because I can set it up to exactly the work flow I use, for example my wife uses lightroom in a different way that I do, so she configured her midi2lr in a different way that works for her. The best thing is that the midi2lr plug in is free for Mac and windows, and it can be used with different midi devices, and one such as the Beringher x-touch mini costs only $50 USD and one such as the Beringher BCF2000 or the BCR2000 cost about $200 USD and have a lot of buttons knobs and faders that let you customize it a lot more.
So for me the loupedeck is a no go, way to expensive for what it does when there are a lot of better solutions (not only midi2lr but there is also the pfixer).

Hands down, the best Loupedeck review on YouTube. Liked and subscribed!
Damn it, I hate when things are really cool because I don't want to send them back !! ^^ 11:25
Nice video and nice product. It's interesting to see you learn as you go. It'd be really cool to hear your "long term test", if you plan to keep using it for your workflow.
+Grant Matthews So far I really like it. I can't keep everything I like or I'd be poor 💸 but we'll see!
YEAP! B&H have definitely got some BIG windows in their shop...they certainly saw you coming with this piece of kit. Strikes me they have a solid sale at PhotoJoseph Studios ;-).
The keyboard setup assistant pop-up is a Mac OS system feature, not from the Loupedeck software.
The Loupedeck hardware would likely have to communicate with the computer as if it is a keyboard with macro capabilities, which is probably why Mac users get that pop-up.
It's unlikely that would happen on Windows.
Awesome review! This is a product I've been interested in for a while, Thank you!
