*Timelaps help* One thing i dont like with the GH5 is the menu. Its hard to figure out what disables things in the menu. Cant figure out what makes that i cant change quality in timelaps movies creation now. Any ideas?
+Jörgen Nilsson Yeah agreed. Some menus actually do tell you why they are Grey, but not all.
No it was the rec quality that was grayed out When you did have the System Frequency set to 24Hz cinema. I was a lite unclear there. I wish there was a message that did say why some menu options is grayed out sometime :)
+Jörgen Nilsson ah, so it was frame rates you couldn’t choose. Glad you sorted it out.
PhotoJoseph i did just figure it out. I was recording in 24 fps. You have use pal 50. Then can you save to 25 fps and more.
+Jörgen Nilsson What options do you see and what are you locked out of? Have you set movie recording to MOV or M4V in the main movie menu?
Here is a question for you, Joseph. I was thinking about what else could be done with the hardware we have in GH5 and I thought about the IBIS. Its construction allows shifting the sensor along two axes and rotating (tilting) it on three axes. The amplitude for those movements is not very big, but given the size of the image, those may be sufficient to implement tilt&shift feature (perspective correction and focal plane rotations) based on the sensor movements only. I would love such a feature! What do you think? IMO Panasonic should know about this idea too. :)

re codetap's question is there a way to record the GH5 screen internally to your SD card overlaid with your footage. I.E. a non-HDMI-out solution.
How do I edit All-Intra video in resolve? I have tried several settings in Resolve 14 but resolve does not seem to be able to read the file.

Over the weekend on another channel someone said you're not a professional if you use micro 4/3. I listed a couple of people including @PhotoJoseph saying I guess they aren’t professional and how I myself have been making my living using the GH4 for the last 3 years and soon the GH5.
I explained how it doesn’t matter what you use. It’s just a tool that the professional uses to create with. You don’t tell a mechanic that he isn’t a real mechanic because he is using a different brand wrench then other mechanics are using.

+Daddymcc Yeah… those people are mostly pissed because they spent all this money on a camera they don’t need and are trying to justify it. Hater’s gonna hate!
@photojoseph which camera would be better 2 start a channel with, the G7 or the GX85?
PhotoJoseph thanks 4 the info, will probably get the g7 just cause it is $100 after all and the only thing that I can see different is the recording limit on the g7, but don't know if the 85 has any limit like the 30 min limit. Not that it would really make a difference. Most stuff would be less that 30 min and if I needed more I can stitch together, or put it in service mode and take the limit away. But either way unless there's something the 85 can do that the g7 can't that would make it worth $100 more then, looks more like the g7.
PhotoJoseph most adds 4 the 85 were a lot higher but I found a KIT at amazon 4 $698, inc a 64gb card and more and the price 4 the G7 is a kit also. The 85 has a 12-32 mm lens and the G7 comes with a 14-42mm lens. I can’t believe that they have the 85 with all that’s in the deal, here it is

+Bruce Bruton Oh wow. That’s with a lens?! Probably not worth the extra $100 if all you’re using it for is a webcam
PhotoJoseph can get a g85 for $699 and g7 for $599 Just don't know if it is worth the extra $100 for the 85.
+Bruce Bruton Both have microphone inputs (double check that but I’m 90% sure that’s right) which is one of the things you definitely want. I think for use as a streaming camera you won’t find much if any difference. I’d probably buy the G85 because you can get a new one with lens for @ $1k right now but if you find a great deal on a G7, you won’t regret it.
