I am using Godox, right now V1 speedlights and XPro trigger for Olympus/Panasonic.
Struggling with making the s5ii work with my godox hss. Neither company has a solution
@@photojoseph What set of lamps should I buy for HSS? I have navigator1 and the lamps work up to 1/200, it is not possible to use HSS, you can only select FP in wireless mode.

I have recently purchased the Lumix DMW-FL360L, and I wish Lumix S5 could trigger the flash wirelessly without needing to attach it to the hotshoe. That would be a great feature.
The only cameras that can do that have a built in flash. The GH4 actually did. The tiny flash is needed to communicate to the other strobes. Yeah it’d be a nice feature to have but I don’t see that coming back.
Hi Joseph, I wanted to ask you why the flash is not going on on my monitor, I have the gh5, I have set silent mode to off, filter settings to off, HDR to off, shutter type to MSHTR, bracket to off, photo style in CNEV, in M mode, and in photo without burst, this happened to me a year ago when I bought the flash (godox V860II or) and I solved it, I was using it, but I don't remember how, I forget some other configuration that doesn't activate me the flash, I hope you can help me, greetings from Spain

This was a LIVE show, so I’m sorry the pacing was too long for you. As to your comment; I don’t know what you mean. I clearly enter the flash menu. If yours can’t be set however that usually indicates you’re in electronic shutter mode, which can also be triggered by enabling silent mode.

If it has the menus, yes. And I think it does but you’ll need to look!

Probably in electronic shutter mode, or one of the creative photo modes.

I’m shooting on a GH5 with x3 FL580L’s I’m having trouble with the slave flashes working / communicating with camera outside a VERY small range even with the AF-assist lamp pointed directly at camera. Any suggestions?

Hm, is it a very bright environment? That sounds odd. How small is “very small range”?
Im just trying to use one on camera flash for my gh5. I cant get the thing to work in manual mode. It only works in IA mode. Flash option is greyed out!

Hi, I take it lumix cameras will only use lumix flashes. On my g90 I cant open the flash option on the menu.

You can use any flash. Many third party companies like Godox make strobes for LUMIX cameras. Their designation is “O” for Olympus/LUMIX. The menu in the camera is exclusively for LUMIX strobes, however you can get full TTL with third party flashes too, but using their own interface.

Sounds like you're in electronic shutter (or silent) mode.
Hello Boss My G9 Flash is inactive , I can not use it , it is not active , can not go inside to turn off or turn on , could you please tell me how to work ? Silent mode is off
maybe electronic shutter is on, or some creative photo modes may disbale the flash

Joseph...enjoyed the info you provided. Do you know if this same on-camera wireless functionality will work with the Godox line of wireless flashes (tt685o and tt350o), for the Lumix G9?

Did you find a solution to use wireless flashes with the GX9 ?
I have started playing with them. I’ll do a show soon. From what I could tell you have to use the Godox units to control them, not the LUMIX interface. I was using two strobes and controller; I need to try with just two strobes.
Where can you feedback/complain to Panasonic about dumb features on Lumix cameras (of which there are many related to flash)?
What do you think of using a light meter instead of TTL?
LOL… find me a photographer who uses one and swears by it and I’ll have them on the show
Whatever works for you! Of course a light meter is more work, and someone would have to prove it was more accurate, but I think there’s a good reason the light meter business is a little slow these days
