Migrating from Aperture to Photos #1

I have pretty much decided to migrate my photos from Aperture to Photos. For context, my Aperture library is ~150GB with ~15k photos, of which ~3k have had some form of editing done to them.

Whenever I try to make this move, I get analysis paralysis and can’t finish it. The crux of my issue is that I have to pick between 1 of these 3 options and I don’t love any of them:

1. Migrate RAWS to Photos, storing the versions off in a sidecar.

2. Migrate the versions to Photos, storing the RAWs off in a sidecar.

3. Migrate BOTH versions AND RAWs to Photos

At the moment, I’m leaning towards #3, but don’t love the idea of having some photos that kind of basically look like duplicates, even though they are not.

What have other people done? Are there other options I should consider?

Thanks!

For those who might be stuck in a similar situation: the Aperture to Photos migration retains the original, as well as the edits (without the specific per-adjustment editing instructions) and does so without creating duplicates. I wasn’t following the instructions closely enough, and missed the Mojave part that suggests generating previews for all photos. After doing that, I got the migration behavior I was hoping for.

Have you updated today’s news? Raft Wars is a game that has broken records over the past decade because of its popularity. When playing this game, the player has the task of observing and protecting his treasure chest so that no one can get close or lose it by shooting down opponents.
