After I import my master files in a project, I rename everything and images are posted online with that new naming. I then work on certain images improving them using plugins (Nik ,DFX, etc..).The new edited version however are given a “version-2” of the master file name.
Is there a way to make these plugin versions follow the original naming so once edited they can be posted back in a selection and the whole projects doesn't have to be renamed after each edit to a master file with a plugin ?
any tips would be appreciated.

Nope, there will always be a ” - version n” applied, sorry. No way to modify that.
You may also see in some instances that the custom file name is removed entirely, and the Version name reverts to whatever the camera created. This is an annoying issue that I’m trying to get to the bottom of.
