Bit stuck on this..my son shot a heap of RAW images, I have them on an external drive. I wish to bring a selected few as jpg's only to aperture to later export or email them.
What import settings do i use to achieve this?

You have to import the RAW files first, then export out versions to email (or use the email button in Aperture, which generates a JPG and attaches it to a mail message for you).
Forgive me if I’m mis-assuming, but it sounds like you may want to start with some basic “how Aperture works” education. I recommend reading “In-Depth Getting Started with Aperture 3” as this will explain all the basics of how Aperture handles files, and why.
