Hi,
I have a project with 2k images on my MacBook. The masters had been referenced to my filevaulted home.
Export went smooth. I copied the masters and the exported library to my imac.
Import went smooth as well. But (as expected) the masters are now at a different location. BUT: Aperture doesn't let me reconnect the masters. It states, that the Volume (probably my filevault) is not available (offline). That's it. No further options.
So how can I reconnect the masters now? Is there a way to remove the original reference location from the Aperture Database?

hmmm… I don’t really understand, since there is not external drive involved.
Again: the masters on my MacBook are located in a FileVault (SparseBundle). I copied these masters to my 2nd Mac and exported the project as a library.
Import of that library succeded on my 2nd Mac. But here, Aperture cannot find the masters and says: “The “drive” were these images are located on, is offline!”
In addition to this, I can’t reconnect the masters.

OK, a couple of things. First, I think you’re misunderstanding the use of the File Vault. The File Vault is strictly for backup, and is not where your master files are “located”. Learn more about the File Vault in this post, “Aperture 3 Vaults; What’s Backed Up, and What Isn’t?”.
If you moved the Library and Aperture can’t find the Masters, then you were working Referenced in your other system. I go in depth on Referenced vs Managed in the “In-Depth Getting Started with Aperture 3” and also discussed it in the first two Live Training.
If you weren’t using an external drive, then your masters must be located somewhere on your other computer’s internal drive. Locate those and copy them to the other computer, then use Aperture’s Locate Referenced Files command to reconnect them.

Martin is talking about the MacOS X feature for encrypting your home directory called FileVault. It’s a different thing entirely than Aperture’s Vault.

Regardless of where your photos are, they are not in the Aperture library (managed). These files are on your other computer, from the sounds of things, and need to be moved to the new one.
