I've been looking for an alternative to PHANFARE for my photo storage and sharing online, ive signed up for smug mug, and I love it. Uploading from aperture is easy even for me.
Any others here using it?

I use it Graham, over on my ConfessionsOfATravelJunkie.com site. I actually stopped using the embeds recently in favor of a custom pop-up, but I do need to get back to integrating smugmug for print sales.

I also wrote a post here a while ago; From Aperture to SmugMug to Squarespace.

I’m also using SmugMug. When I first joined, half of the reason I picked SmugMug was the high quality videos it supports. The only problem is they are limited to 10 minutes. So lately I’ve been using Vimeo for my videos which I think is great. No time limits and the quality is super. And now Final Cut Pro X has a Share to Vimeo command.

I think photos look great on SmugMug. When I want someone to be able to download an image, I usually have to explain how to do it. The download button on SmugMug is not very intuitive. To download an entire gallery, you have to either download each one individually or request a link. The link only lasts a couple of weeks. I suspect these aren’t problems for professionals since they don’t usually want clients to freely download images.

Joseph, I think it may have been your article From Aperture to SmugMug to Squarespace that made me aware of Smugmug.

I’ve not done much with video, so the shortcomings there have not affected me much.

I know my pro photographer son likes using vimeo.
