OnOne Plugins #1

I knew to deactivate OnOne plugins prior to upgrading to Lion, and remembered on my MBP, but forgot on my iMac. Perfect Resize Pro runs really fast on my MBP, but it is slower on my iMac even though I uninstalled it and reinstalled. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix? I emailed OnOne, but I may not hear back for several days.

Thanks -

Dudley,

I heard back from OnOne but all they did is refer me to what they have posted online.
Had already did what they had suggested. Waiting now for an answer to my current problems with OnOne. At least all the Plug-ins work in Aperture.

Good morning,

You should only have to activate the product a single time if you own the suite. Here is an article on updating to Lion: http://www.ononesoftware.com/support/2073/

Dudley,

Ok I am back up and running with OnOne after doing the below witch they suggested.
Looks like even though I did the deactivate there was still an issue.
But anyhow it is working now. In fact it seems to run a bit faster.

——————————————————————-
This indicates you probably have an individual installer besides the Suite on your system. Please run the uninstall script below then reinstall the Suite 5.5.3 from the website. Please let us know if that does not resolve the issue.

Please remove all onOne products then reinstall.

Then reinstall from the website below:

Dudley,

I have an issue with OnOne also. I deactivate before installing Lion via Photoshop CS5 with my MacBook Pro 2.66 (June 2009). Now a couple of the OnOne Plug-ins keeps asking for the license when trying to use within CS5. However all OnOne Plug-ins work with no problem via Aperture 3. I too have send off an email to OnOne (Friday July 22nd). Have not had any reply as of today. I am sure they are receiving many emails.

I sent them the message you had received, and they said I should try it. It may have speeded things up some, but Perfect Resize Professional still seems to be running slower than it should be. It is taking me about 7 minutes to upsize a 24 MB image to 30” X 40”.

Dudley,

I decided to run one like you did using Perfect Resize. It took about 6.3 minutes of time. Did it via round trip from Aperture 3 to Photoshop CS5 and back.

For your information the current system I am using is the MacBook Pro 2.66 (June 2009) with 8BG DDR3 Ram. Now I did replace the original hard drive with Seagate
500GB Momentus XT Solid State Hybrid Hard Disk Drive from OWC.

Now I am looking at upgrading to the newer MacBook Pro with maybe a SSD. Also would like to use the new Thunderbolt external drives. However I am waiting to hear some reviews about Thunderbolt on how fast they are with Aperture. Need to know if it is really worth the cost. Hopefully we will start hearing from others who are running Aperture library via Thunderbolt.

Stu -

Thanks for taking the time to run this test. This helps put in perspective the time my iMac is taking to run a similar task in Perfect Resize Professional.

I would like to sell my 15” MacBook Pro and get the new high end 13” MacBook Air.
