I'm curious if there's a way to see a running list of photos that have been adjusted somehow. Here's the scenario:
I open an image in Project A and run some adjustments. I close the image, move to project B, and also run some adjustments. Then I move over to Faces and do a few categorization activities. Then I import some new photos.
And I was working on a specific photo in a specific project, but I've sense lost track of which one and where.
Can I easily find a way to jump back to the “last image that had adjustments applied”?

Hi Jake,
I’m sure about Faces since I don’t use that feature…but if you’re talking about the Adjustments themselves (Exposure, Vibrancy, Curves, etc.) then yes you can. You can create a library-wide smart album. One of the criteria you can choose is “Adjustments” with a parameter of “are applied”. Do that and sort by date. I’m not in front of my Aperture station right now, otherwise I’d give you a screenshot.
Now, depending on your library size, that could result in a huge Smart Album. So you may want to add a date range to the filter as well. Something like less than 90 days old.
You might also consider putting this into your workflow. I do a fair amount of jumping around like you. So I wanted to have a “self-documenting” workflow. For me, the color labels helped - a blue color means a version is in the “adjustment” stage of my workflow. http://sdaven.blogspot.com/2011/08/my-aperture-workflow.html

I think your solution is half-there Scott; sorting by date itself isn’t enough because if he edited an old photo, that’d show up low on the list. However there is a metadata field called Last Modified Date, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to appear in the Smart Album options. I’m going to have to ask Apple about this; it seems to be an oversight.
However what you can do Jake is add this field to your List view, and then sort by Last Modified Date when in List view.
First, open the View > Metadata Display > Customize window and select List – Expanded view and under Aperture, enable Last Modified Date [screenshot].
Then, create the Smart Album as Jake suggested, with the Adjustments > are applied option [screenshot].
Once in that Smart Album, select the List view and then sort by Last Modified Date [screenshot]. You have to select it from the column headers, as it’s not going to show up in the drop-down menu. (Yes you see it here in my screenshot, because it’s already been selected. As soon as you choose another custom sort view, that most recent view will be replaced.)
You can also add this to the metadata view so you see this Last Modified Date field there [screenshot].
This field will I believe be updated however no matter what you do to the image, including adjust metadata. So this may not always show you the last image you made image adjustments to. But it’ll certainly get you close.
