Many people have forgotten that with the Aperture 1.1 update Apple lowered the price of Aperture significantly. In the US it went from $499 to $299 with the 1.1 update. It wasn’t until version 2.0 that it dropped further to $199. The Wikipedia article on Aperture neglects this point.
Even more forgettable is that they offered a $200 rebate to owners who paid full price for the 1.0 version. You can see the rebate offer at the Internet Archive
