Yes, Backblaze absolutely backs up your external drives, as long as it can see them once per 30 days your data will remain backed up.
If you aren’t seeing it in your recovery list, it’s probably because your initial backup isn’t yet complete. Once it’s started backing up the external HD, you’ll see it listed in your View/Restore Files page.
Katy, sounds like you were waiting for Backblaze to detect the drive? Did you ever go into the Backblaze preference pane and click the Settings button? There’s a section there to “Select Hard Drives to Backup” and a refresh button to update the list when a new drive is added.
I did go to the settings and select hard drives to back up and selected the gdrive. For whatever reason it took 2 1/2 days to find it and it is now backing it up it is going to take 27 days to back it up and I am doing the back up at the fastest speed possible. thx
Perhaps I should have included this in my earlier post, The first thing I did after installing backblaze was to go to their FAQ . I did as they instructed. However when I went to double check and verify that my EHD was being backed up i could not be sure; thats why i posted here looking for help. thx

Thanks Joseph, Yes, the EHD was showing up because it hadn’t detected it yet ( after 2 days it found it)
Thanks for the help

Oh, and I also wanted to thank all of you who recommended backblaze to me a few months back. it seems like a great back up and very affordable.
