I recently moved my library from a MacBook Pro to an iMac. Some of the files were referenced on an external drive, as I had too many photos for my 500GB MacBook to hold them all. I can see the libraries on my iMac, and I can see the info for each photo (ratings, etc, but there are NO previews/thumbnails of the images, unless I go to “Located Referenced File” and select the “reconnect all” button. Previously that would reconnect them on my MacBook, but it seems like Aperture (the new version) wants me to go in and select each photo individually and reconnect them because it's only updating the preview for the photo I “reconnected”. What am I doing wrong?
Have you tried to reconnect the referenced files? The previews might be missing because Aperture does not know the current location of those referenced files.

I have, and It won’t connect more than one at a time. Regardless of whether I choose to “reconnect all”. The preview for the photo chosen is the only one it will restore. I can’t go in and manually do that for 40k photos. If I weren’t working on a coffee table book right now, I’d probably not care, but that’s not the case.
I was apparently attempting to do this without selecting all the files. That fixed it all!
Great! Congrats!
