Beth always best for the writer to start a new conversation due to the fact that the problems are probably different. But start with my suggestions above and let us know if you still have a problem Cheers
Sorry I couldnt help. There are other things to try if the Rebuild and Repair didnt work but since you are on the way to the Apple store Im sure you’ll get it resolved. Let us know what it was. Cheers
So it may be my hard drive (2009 iMac) and he was able to get the rebuild to work finally, but it may not be permanent. Here’s to hoping it is. Cheers.
Do yourself a favor. Purchase a new drive and get everything from the old drive to the new one ASAP. Don’t risk losing everything the Apple Store was able to help you recover.
So you did all three steps of the repair and Rebuild? there are a lot of other things to try. See maintenance items in the FQA section. Did you log in under another account and see it that help? Let us know Cheers
I too have the same problem all of a sudden. I was into Aperture earlier today and had no problems and then I went into it this afternoon and I received this message, Warning There was an error opening the database for the library “/Users/name/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”. QUIT was the only choice. I have trashed Aperture and reinstalled and I am getting the same message did you get it figured out yet?

The colon in the volume name might be the source of your problem. Change that colon to a space and see if your problem goes away.
