Not sure if there is an issue with Aperture or not. After editing an image I sent to Photoshop CS6 for editing, I typically want to save back a PSD or TIFF to be able to save the layers. However, when saving back as a TIFF, the image comes back into Aperture as a corrupt file. PSD does come into Aperture, but either the thumbnail has bizarre artifacts and/or the full image doesn't retain all the edits make in Photoshop. This is quite disturbing as I need to save images with adjustment layers for possible editing in the future.

Saving PSD files back to Aperture?

Do you have maximum compatibility turned on on Photoshop? I don’t know that to be your problem, but it was a problem for me once when trying to index PSD files using Media Pro. Media Pro could not extract the previews.

You may know this already but you really can not save masks in PS channels. If you make a layer in PS and make a mask on that layer, see if it is in channels also even if you didnt save to channels. I had to get rid of alot of channels so aperture could deal with the file, preview n thumbnails. Again Layer masks seem to be ok but not in channels or also perhaps paths as well (still looking into that one). Cheers

Yes, I did have maximum compatibility on.
Well, on the second point you were dead on DB. On the one photo i was having an issue, I did create a mask on a layer which was present in the channels list. Bummer. Probably not a show stopper, but a few techniques I may have change or just punt on saving layers and just flatten some images. No doubt getting rid of channels reduces file size tremendously anyway. Can’t thank you enough for responding!
