As my library grows, I've started to wonder if my backup strategy is robust enough (I'm pretty sure it is), but also if I'm missing anything by not using vaults…
Here's my referenced library set up: The library is on an external 2TB firewire drive; a backup resides on a HP Home Server via LAN with 4TB of redundant storage (four 2TB drives where 4TB are a mirror of the other 4.)…
Then, I use Backblaze as an offsite backup of the first external 2TB drive. I think I have enough failsafe backups…My real question is this: Is there some danger I'm running by not utilizing the Aperture vault system? Does an Aperture referenced library ever get too big to handle in the manner I've described?
The post http://www.apertureexpert.com/forum-user/post/2084928 considers a few pros and cons of vaults, but personally I think your backup plan is fine.
