I purchased Aperture 3 from the App store. I am unable to download the updates from App store as it states Aperture already installed on your computer ; go to Apple software update ; when I try this it redirects me to App store.
Any help please

I assume you are running Mountain Lion, as when you go to software update it is now the way software gets updated, via the app store… even for system updates.

Another way of doing it is to just go to the apple site and download it manually and then install.

I am sure that 3.3.2 is for Mountain Lion only. This is probably why it is not naturally appearing in your updates list.

No, 3.3.2 is for Lion users, too.

Try logging out and back in to the App Store.

Also, there used to be a receipts folder in your System Library (not the User Library) where you could delete rhe receipt for an update and that somehow got the Software Updatw system to kinda reset itself for that app. I dont know if this is even still there with the App Store update system but its worth checking.

And finally, worst case, just install manuall from the link posted above.

Apologies.

Joseph is right, I have just seen the specs requirement on the update page:

System Requirements
OS X Lion 10.7.4 or later
OS X Mountain Lion 10.8

If the downloaded update did not work then I would personally try deleting the app and try downloading it again from the app store.

Not saying that it would cure the issue, it is just what I would do to try and resolve the issue if I were having it.

I would imagine that the version that you would re-download would be the latest version. I could not imagine Apple leaving an old build on the app store for you to then update after downloading it.
