I need some automation when shooting tethered #1

Guys,

is there a script (or is it possible to make one) which could automatically decrease reds and vibrancy on every image which imports one by one when I am shooting tethered right into Aperture 3? Beacuse first the image looks ok but then Aperture processed it and all the lips are way too magenta and all the reds are wrong and though I'm telling the client it's not color-corrected yet, ya know, it bugs me )

Thanks!

Hi Roman,

Sorry, I’ve been away for a while so I didn’t spot your request.

As far as I can tell there’s no way to check whether an image was imported from a tethered shoot or via memory card, so I can’t teach a script to tell the difference. However, an import script can be turned on or off manually in the Import settings, at least when importing from a card (I don’t have any experience with tethered shooting so I don’t know how the import settings apply in that case). This means I could write a script that applies an adjustment preset to everything you import, and you could toggle it on or off as you prefer.

Is this solution something you could work with? Like I said I’m no expert on tethered shooting so I can’t guarantee that it will work but I think it will.

Roman,

You can apply an Adjustment Preset on capture when shooting tethered, just like you can apply a preset on import. Adjust the image the way you want using the regular adjustment tools, and save the adjustments as a preset [screenshot], then set that preset in the Tethered HUD [screenshot] while shooting.

No scripting needed.
