How to move projects into folder? #1

Hi everyone,

I am trying to write a short AS that renames a project with a date or a date range after import and then moves the project into the folder called after the year. If that folder exists the script should just move the project into it, otherwise the folder should be created first. I could not find out how to move a whole project into a folder. Does anyone know? I tried move, import into folder, export project. Nothing seems to work.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alex

Hi Alex.

I’ve tried my best, but I keep getting an AppleEvent handler fail, and even worse my test project keeps getting moved to the trash. I assume that the move command is only meant to be used on image versions (that’s what the library entry says) and not whole projects.

The best I can do is suggest that you include the year when naming a project, and then set up a smart folder to get only images whose project name includes that year.

Hi Morten,

thanks for your quick reply. That’s exactly what I encountered. I don’t really get it though. Documents say that both the import and export commands should work. It says something like “projects can be imported into folders”. But well, at least it looks like that it’s not me who was using some wrong commands. So I do the renaming and then move the project into the folder by hand. Works, but would be more comfortable if the script could do it..
