I have migrated from iPhoto to Aperture using my iPhoto library (.photolibrary), as opposed to the default Aperture library (.aplibrary). Regarding this, there are a couple of things I'm curious about:
1. Are there any downsides to using an iPhoto library instead of an Aperture library when using Aperture?
2. Are there any advantages to using a “pure” Aperture library?
If there are advantages, I would surely like to convert my library to the Aperture format. However, I have yet to find any information on the Internet pertaining to library conversion from iPhoto to Aperture.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I’ll stick with my current library setup, then! Thanks a bunch for your reply, Butch.

With the most recent updates to both iPhoto and Aperture … the libraries are totally interchangeable between the two apps … with that in mind … i don’t really see a downside … thus offering you the best of both worlds without regret or second guessing …
