Is anyone using Perfect Photo Suite? It can be plugged into Aperture and there is a deal on the price at the moment. The thing is, I already use the Nik Software suite, so while I'm interested in some of PPS7's aps, I'm wondering if this package would complement Nik or mostly compete with it?
I use the Perfect Photo Suite and I see a lot of overlap between it and Nik’s suite. Perfect Photo Does have a few more tools, most especially Perfect Portrait.

I have both, but prefer Perfect Photo Suite. That may be because I had used it for about six months before getting the Nik Collection (the price was too good to pass up). For whatever reason, I just prefer the PFS7 interface.I just never felt I was as effective with Nik’s Control Points. There is definitely some overlap:
Color Efex = Perfect Effects
Silver Efex = Perfect B&W
but there are also a number of plugins that do not overlap. I use Nik’s Dfine, Sharpener Pro and HDR Efex, whereas with PFS7 you have Perfect Layers and Perfect Mask as well as Focal Point (very nice product), Perfect Portrait and Perfect Resize (fabulous for creating large images). My recommendation would be to download the 30-day trial of PFS7 and give it a spin.
Thanks for the replies. After further study of the different modules, I decided there were enough differences that made it worth putting in the time to try the free 30-day demo version. I have a 4.5-year old iMac with only 4GB of RAM, and immediately ran into problems such as positioning the “modifier” triangles around the eyes and mouth in Portrait, which I put down to the performance of my old Mac rather than the software. After experiencing a freeze, I gave up and trashed the download. But I experienced enough that when I can afford a new speedier iMac, I will give PP another try–especially if a good deal is offered again. Note that the Nik Software suite runs far more smoothly on my iMac, which is why I thought PP would.
I have Perfect Photo Suite but started out with Nik over 5 years ago and prefer their plug-ins. I just can get my head around all the different settings there are with the PPS modules. The control points are just so fast and simple. I do however REALLY like the Perfect Resize module.
I'd much rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
