APERTURE FREEZES ON NEW VERSION COMMAND #1

I took a 12 mb file into OnOne Perfect Resize to resize for a 24x36 canvas. The resized file ended up being 2.25 Gb and it imported back into Aperture ok at that size. I wanted to make a new version (OPT + V) of the 2.25 Gb resized file but every time I attempted to do so, Aperture froze and I had to Force quit. Anyone else have that issue? Perhaps that file is just too large for Aperture to create a new version. Any thoughts?

I'd much rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

When you create a new version, you’re not duplicating the original 2.25GB file. A new version just adds more entries in the Aperture database, new thumbnails and a preview file if you have it enabled in preferences.

Not sure what could be wrong. I’m convinced many problems people have with Aperture are disk related rather than Aperture related. (e.g. corrupt image files from bad flash cards or permission problems on external disk drives) I’m not saying your problem is caused by that but keep it in mind. Where are your originals kept? Managed or Referenced?
