Strange things on iPad Air #1

Ok, this might very well be an iOS thing (bug) but want to share it.

  1. I had a few times when scrolling up and down on the iPad when the keyboard is switch on/off, that the main menu bar scrolls together with the page.
  2. If I reposition the cursor in another part of the text i can’t type text any more only select the text.  I have to remove the keyboard first and then click in the text box again to bring back the keyboard and type.

Regards,

Luc

  1. Please grab a screenshot. I think I know what you mean but a screenshot always helps.
  2. Known iOS issues. Extremely annoying. Will not be fixed before launch unfortunately. Switching to HTML mode makes it better but not perfect.

Joseph,

I notice that the previous reply before the release has been gone. Do you need these screenshot or replies from before back?

cheers,

luc

It's OK, I know what you mean now. Not really sure what to do about the menu bar. I've seen this happen on other sites too. Might be an iOS thing, but it's exceptionally hard to pinpoint. As for the keyboard editing… yeah… it's a real issue. Again, trying to find a solution. Thanks.

This is still happening.

Repositioning the cursor, typing, and repositioning and typing elsewhere now seems to work. The overall experience on tablet still isn't good. That awful overlay at the bottom of the screen showing the share and following links is dreadful and sucks up valuable real estates for a small screen. Mobile devices should have that hidden. Also scrolling using touch screens is terrible, often slow too.

Just trying it on my iPad Mini Retina and have same issue, but I am running 7.1 Beta 2 FYI … . .
