How to get 2 pictures in one jpg #1

I have these two images that are only really interesting if they are next to one another. Obviously if I print them, I can display them that way, but how do I do that in Aperture? I tried using the sequence preset in the Print dialog box, but I only managed to produce a fairly low resolution PDF.

Thank you.

Hi,

I’d suggest to use the books-feature. Start a new book, empty all pages, arrange as you like it, then print to jpeg or export to jpeg. there is even an applescript for doing this, please look for it on Robert Boyers site, he is offering a couple of presets and other stuff. Revently he had some very good articles on the curves brick in Aperture, featured here as well. His ebook on the books within Aperture is excellent and truly of help.

Thank you for that Rolf. I had forgotten that I had seen Derrick Story demo this.

If you want to always view them this way in Aperture, take a look at the Light Table feature. I just learned how to use it this week and it can do exactly what you want. A light table is like an Album, except that the Viewer has a free-form space where you can place images however you want, size them independently of one another, use tools to auto-arrange or auto-align them, make them overlap, etc.

This is one feature that really shines in Aperture, and Adobe Lightroom doesn’t have.

I’ve been playing with Lightroom over the last week or so.  I may be wrong but in the Print module, under Custom package you can create something similar to a Light Table.  It doesn’t auto-align but it does allow overlapping, resizing etc.  You can also print to a JPEG when you’re happy.

In order to get 2 images in a JPEG, I think Rolf’s suggestion is the best way.

I know its not Aperture, but for ease of use, and how quick I can do it, I use the closest thing to Photoshop and thats Pixelmator and for $30 compared to $600+ its one of the best investments I have made.
