I’m trying to create a new book in Aperture 3, but there is no option available to have a printed cover. The dust jacket options are there (front cover or spread cover), but not the book cover itself. I know they print the covers, so why am I missing this? I’ve tried with different sizes and different themes, but nowhere is the cover shown as a page option. My last run of books came back with an unprinted cover, Apple advised that I upgrade to Mavericks which I did, but no difference (not surprised about that really, it’s got nothing to do with the OS, has it?).
Thanks!
I have edited and printed 30 books for clients this year with printed covers and dust jackets.
I use the Extra large, hardcover 13 x 10 option with an Art Collection theme.
All have come with printed covers and wrap around matching dust jacket.

My last book was ‘modern lines’, however I think I am getting closer to discovering what the problem is.
I believe it may relate to the title text box on the front cover (dust jacket). I deleted this text box because I used an edge-to-edge image with text embedded in it, instead of pasting in an image and adding text for the title. I understand that this would affect the title printing on the spine, but it appears to affect the actual cover printing as well. When I redesign the same book with an image + text on the first page, the printed cover shows up in print preview. I shall do a bit more work on this.
