There are many pages of tips and no ability to search by keyword. I recall being able to search for lots of things in the old site - not sure if it was tips. But now I can’t search easily at all.

I'm not sure what the trouble is. Search is much more advanced on this site than on the old. Type any phrase into the search field in the top right of any window, and then you can filter the results with the options on the right side. Keywords (or tags) were never well used (I've been terrible at them) but what's there will show up, however just the plain text search should find what you're looking for.
