I just migrated from Aperture to Photos and am Trying to add coordinates to some new images. How can I do this? I can’t find a straightforward way within Photos to do it but is there a workaround?
Not a built-in capability at the moment. Photos 1.01 was just released but that feature was not an advertised change. But I haven’t checked it since the update.
Looks like Geotagging will be added with Photos 1.1 planned for release with MacOS X El Capitan this fall. You can sign up for the El Capitan public beta now if you have a 2nd computer to risk it on. I wouldn’t recommend installing the beta on your main computer.
Jason Snell wrote a short preview of Photos 1.1 on Sixcolors.com. He talks about how Geotagging works and the other new features added.
You can add location info in the Info panel; simply start typing the name of the city and it’ll give a list with suggestions while you type. Running Photos Version 1.1 (335.4.0) on El Capitan Version 10.11 (15A282a)
