For the life of me, can’t figure out how to do this in Affinity Photo, but was simple in Photoshop. I have a layer, I grab the marquee tool and make a selection. I want to use this selection as the basis for a mask on the layer. In my case I want to hide the selection. How do I do this? I will probably face-palm when I’m told the answer…
I don’t have that answer but you may find it in one of these excellent video tutorials on the Affinity site. They also are good about email questions. Good luck.

Thanks! I also found their support forum and got an answer to my question. Last night I verified it worked.

It worked on my end as well. Still learning an in depth knowledge on the software.
