Installed el capitan, imported some new nef images, showing up in viewer as quite contrasty, when opened each photo is well overexposed? opened same images in camera raw and all are fine, what is happening? tried selecting them, option/control to rebuild image, still same deal….. any suggestion. these are nef from nikon D3 on Lexar compact  flash card

tks, gmoney

Hi, you have to turn off OnScreen Proofing. It's a reported issue affecting most photo software.

cheers

thanks so much, over my anxiety!! on the aperture topic, are you still holding with it at this point? photos upgrade is somewhat better than first release, but not that exciting, hope new 3rd party app makers inject some key features into photos, would like to stay in this vein. whats your position?, again, tks for the tip on proofing, when would you use that feature? gmoney
