Rejecting/rating photos after import #1

I really try to like the new photos app, but I find it time consuming to reject and sort my pictures after import. In aperture after import my workflow was to use the star ratings and the “9” to quickly sort my pictures. The bad photos was instantly rejected and the ones I liked got a 3-star rating. Then I used the search feature in aperture to find the pictures without any stars - marked them all an pressed “9”. Fast and effective! My problem is that I haven’t found a similar workflow in the photos app and it is effectively killing the joy in using photos app for me. Any ideas how to do it?

All you've got are favorites and rejects. Apple will tell you that you can use keywords for ratings (that's what your stars converted to if you migrated from Aperture) but we all know that's a joke. So no… there is no good workflow for rating your images. Either it's your favorite, or it's not.
