I restarted my computer and it updated Aperture. Since then I can’t open my library. I get the following message:
Aperture cannot access this library
To use this library, make sure its file permissions are set correctly.
I googled it and found an article from Apple that said to hold down the com/opt keys and double click on the library. I did that and got the window where I picked repair or rebuild. Neither worked. I got this message when I tried to rebuild:
Unable to write to library “Photography (D7000 and D80)”
Check that you have permission to write to the library directory.
I get the same message when I try to repair. What can I do to get access to my pictures???
Thank you,
Lisa
Open Disk Utility on your Mac, select your disk drive, and run Repair Permissions. Sounds like the OS X permissions aren’t letting you write to the library. There is also a Repair Permissions from that Aperture pop-up (where you can select Repair and Rebuild). Try that also.

Hi Walter:
I tried the Repair Permissions from the pop-up and it wouldn’t let me repair or rebuild. When I run disk utility the repair disk permissions is greyed out when I select the hard drive…
