Carriage return jumps to start of post instead of next line #1

In the Photos for iOS forum I’m getting a strange behavior whereby I hit a return at the end of a paragraph to start a new one and the insertion point jumps to the start of the entry instead of the next line.

It happened in this message as well. To type in this paragraph I needed to move the insertion point down after typing “return”. AFAIK this started with the change over to ThePhotosExpert but it could be coincidence.

BTW, I’m on Safari 7.1, MacOS X 10.9.5.

Hm

Not a problem for me

Happily returning away

Can you try another browser, and if that fixes it, clear cache on whichever one you normally use?

I used Empty Cache from the Safari Develop menu. No Joy

Tried deleting website data. No Joy.

Maybe a reboot. Waiting for FCP X share operation to complete first.

I used Onyx to clear system, application and internet caches. Then reboot. Still does it.

The odd thing is, hitting return does create the return in the text field. It just jumps the cursor to the beginning.

Are you using Safari 7.1? It was released last night and you need to install OS 10.9.5 first and then run SW update again to get it. Otherwise you get Safari 7.06 with the OS update.

Actually I'm on Safari 7.0.6 and OS X 10.9.4. I do see an OS update pending… sounds like a Safari bug. Great. I think i'll zip Safari 7.06 now so I still have it after the “upgrade”!
