I upgraded to version 3.4.1 last night. Everything went fine with the upgrade and the database was upgraded, but when I started using Aperture my computer crashed after a couple of minutes and rebooted itself.
After rebooting, I tried to load up Aperture but get the following warning:
“There was an error opening the database for the library “/Users/jonathancorcutt/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”.”
The only option is to quit. I've tried opening with CMD, Option, CMD + Option and the same with the database file, but everything results in the warning… no option to repair the database etc (this is what most of the previous posts indicate to do).
I upgraded Aperture to 3.4.2. Upgraded fine, but then when I went to open it, still the same thing. I've also done a permissions repair with Disk Utility but it didn't pick anything up in Aperture.
I'd really appreciate some pointers since there's a lot of pictures potentially lost!
Regards, Jonny
Jonathan,
Try this permissions fix please and let us know what happens: “Fix For Repeated “Inconsistencies… Please Repair” Aperture Dialog”.
Also, did you have a backup?
