I shoot mostly with a Canon 5D mk ll in RAW format. I organize and do basic editing in Aperture and fine-tune with either NIK or On One Photo Suite 7 (I don't use photoshop). I usually have to export to my desktop to do anything from there, like burning copies, printing, posting, or uploading to a custom printer like WHCC. Problem is … the exported full-size JPEGs always look flat and underexposed - noticeably so - when compared to the RAW file or version viewed in Aperture prior to export. I've tried tweaking the exposure, contrast, saturation, black point etcetera prior to export, and it seems to make a difference. But that's more time and work. Am I doing something wrong?
Thomas,
Are you saying the exported photos look different when viewed on the same computer as you are running Aperture? Or in prints or on other computers?
If your screen is too bright when using Aperture you will tend to adjust the exposure too low and then it will look underexposed on other devices.
