Hi everybody,

I recently took some photos with the new Fuji X-T1, but its RAW (RAF) files are still not supported by Aperture. Does anyone know what I can do to continue managing and editing files with Aperture? Is there any third-party software I can use to prepare files to be imported in Aperture?

Any tip or idea is welcome, since I’m lost… Thanks!

Bernardo.

You might want to check Fuji’s site to see if they have a converter (covert RAW to DNG) available.

FWIW, Adobe only recently released a Release Candidate of ACR that supports this camera.  It takes both Apple and Adobe a couple of months to come out with RAW updates for new cameras.

Support for new cameras on OS X is added via updates to Digital Camera RAW. This is not an Aperture component, but an OS X component (similar to Adobe releasing new Adobe Camera Raw updates instead of new Photoshop updates).

Thank you all for your answer. This is my experience:

1) I edit the exif of RAW (RAF) files generated with the X-T1 using GraphicConverter 9: simply, I manually replace “X-T1” with “X100S”. This step can be done in batch.

2) I import the RAW (RAF) files into Aperture.

3) It works: files are supported and I can work on them.

But it’s a bit ridiculous, but it’s true…

Another work around is to shoot RAW+JPG with the camera (I’m assuming the X-T1 can do this). Import into Aperture as RAW+JPG (Separate Masters) so that you can delete the JPEG files later if you want.

Use the JPEG files until Aperture gains support for the RAW. You can go back and use the RAW images within Aperture as required.

Thanks Thomas: this is exactly what I’m doing. I shoot RAW+Jpeg and I import both, but at the same time I’m also editing EXIF with GraphicConverter and I import “falsified” RAW working on them. I hope Aperture comes soon with an update for X-T1… what is - to me - really weird is the fact that if I edit the EXIF and change the camera model from X-T1 to X100S (already supported) Aperture displays RAW files correctly and lets me work on them.
