How to resize in Aperture? #1

I've been using Aperture for several months now and am very pleased with its UI and the ease with which one manoeuvres through all the available tools.

I've never had to resize a jpg, but have been asked to recently. The sideline I'm given is: horizontal at 1500 pixels wide and 72 dpi. I'm at a loss how to accomplish this.

Please guide me. Thank-you.

Export.

What can you do with an image in Aperture ? Answer : nothing. You have to export images to do anything with them, e.g., give them to a client.

So this is where you can resize to suit.

(NB … you should never resize a jpeg, because this means you are re-compressing an already compressed image, using the same LOSSY compression, i.e., jpeg and that means a drop in quality of varying degrees, depending on the level of compression you’re using (both times)).

If you need to resize, do so from the original tiff or raw, or psd or whatever you have that hasn’t already been compressed
