So, I have finally decide to import my iPhoto library into Aperture this weekend. I have a couple of questions about final preparations:
In my iPhoto library I have a lot of Events that never got named, and they are listed by date taken, should I go through and put a name to the Event or just clean up after they are imported into Aperture?
I have a lot of pictures in my iPhoto library that are linked to Facebook albums, what happens to those when I move the library to Aperture? (BTW, I have noticed in Aperture that all of the albums that I have uploaded to Facebook show up in the Aperture Facebook interface, even though they were not uploaded from Aperture. I'm sure that it is just reading my account information.)
Thanks!
Mark,
If you haven’t started it already, I’d rename them in iPhoto first. Once you’re in Aperture you’ll want to play with other stuff and likely keep putting off the rename :)
If you do get some unnamed projects, check out this cool article in the User Tips by John Day as a way to quickly clean up unnamed projects.
As for Facebook, regarding the photos that are already there and published from iPhoto, the connection between the photos in Aperture and the photos online will be lost (if they aren’t I’ll be very surprised and impressed), meaning if you update a picture in Aperture you won’t see it updated in Facebook automatically. However you will have that connection for any future photos you publish.
And yes, Aperture is currently just reading what’s there.

Thanks Joseph, I haven’t started yet, so I’ll take some time to get all that straight before I make the leap to cypher-space! Thanks for the tips, I let you know how I make out!
